Two years ago, using this tumblr blog, I tried to describe what it was like to live at a volunteer housing facility in St Bernard Parish, Louisiana. I helped run the facility, recruited volunteers and found projects for them to do, and peed in troughs and showered in trailers. it was a good life, I did what i loved and wanted to do.
In year 2 of thatssodubsy I tried to describe what it was like to manage over 20 AmeriCorps VISTAs spread out across urban and rural Alaska. it was kind of weird moving to anchorage out of no where, and its tough to supervise those in urban alaska with such a huge cultural divide. Also, it was interesting that that kind of huge cultural divides still exists in america.
I'm now in Graduate School in New Orleans doing a joint masters in Social Work and Public Health. I don't want this blog to be about homework, or me judging the the faults of the students in my program because I am so much better and have lots of life experience (I don't feel that way. aka sarc).. I don't want this to be about what I'm interested in, my opinions on some social hot-topic or um, my social life. It's not that I don't like other blogs that cover those things, it's just the world doesn't want/need my opinion on that.
So I have no idea what this is about.
